courses
an introduction to shadow yoga: a 6 week course with Tim Cummins
starts Friday 13 October, 7.45 – 9.15pm, camden
Expect something quite different to the usual yoga class as you work your legs and hips, resulting in a very grounded feeling. There is a strong focus on the breathing in Shadow Yoga and on the use of Uddiyana bandha which, among other functions, helps to remove sluggishness in the gut and tone the abdomen from the inside out. By the end of the course you will have a basic grasp of the sequence and a foundation on which to build an ongoing practice.
ashtanga yoga for beginners: a 5 week course with Nik Klironomos
starts Monday 16 October, 6.00 – 7.15pm, shoreditch
Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic and physically challenging style of yoga, whereby each movement is synchronised with the breath, and a set series of poses are linked in a constant flow. This creates a detoxifying heat, and the consistency of this practice allows you to quickly improve your upper and lower body strength, flexibility and balance. If you love routine, discipline and working hard, this is a style of yoga suited to you!
mindfulness meditation: a 4 week course with Yogi Ashokananda
starts Monday 23 October, 7.45 – 8.45pm, chelsea
This four week foundational meditation course offers a clear and practical approach to starting up or deepening meditation practice. It covers the key areas which form the basis of a meditation practice.Each session includes meditation practice and related teachings to the practice and an opportunity to share your experiences if you wish in a safe and supportive environment.
iyengar yoga for beginners: a 6 week course with Harshini Wikramanayake
starts Monday 30 October, 7.15 – 8.30pm, soho
This course is an ideal introduction to lay the foundations for a strong and healthy yoga practice. The Iyengar Yoga method is internationally respected for its vigorous style and sophisticated understanding of yoga asana. The methodical and sequential teaching will gradually awaken the body-intelligence and enable you to gain strength, co-ordination, agility and relaxation.
deaf yoga: a 4 week course with Sarah Scott
starts Monday 20 November, 6.00 – 7.15pm, shoreditch
Deaf Yoga is taught in sign language. The course teaches the riches of yoga to those who are deaf or hearing impaired. Learning is gained through action and awareness of experience. This course will help improve your body and breath awareness, posture, strength and flexibility. Yoga is good for calming the nervous system and increasing your confidence. It also helps reduce stress as yoga leads us to the source of inner peace.

undercover yoga: yoga + breakfast at the BOXPARK Shoreditch
on Saturday 21 October, 9.00 – 10.00am, special venue
This Autumn we’ve teamed up the BOXPARK, Shoreditch to offer you alfresco morning yoga classes.This class is for all levels – from beginners (what a great place to try your first yoga class!) to regular practitioners – and includes breakfast afterwards, starting your day with pure nourishment from the inside out. Stretch out, relax, refresh and start your day with some undercover yoga – under the cover of the roof in Box Park, so come rain or shine this class will take place.
