On Friday 2nd November, Eleonora Ramsby Herrera and sound therapist Slavomir Latko are teaching a two-hour yoga class accompanied by live soundscapes, healing gong baths and joyful mantra singing. Expect a multi-sensory experience where you’ll be invited to immerse yourself in a creative journey of sound and movement. Ahead of the workshop, Eleonora explains more about the power of sound and movement.
Sound carries us to places far beyond where any rational thought can take us. It speaks to us not through the language of words but through the language of subtle vibrations and deep sensation. It offers us a way in to explore the depths of our lived experience, awakening inside us a direct connection with our soul essence and our heart’s desire.
During meditative sound experiences, the gentle sound vibrations can be felt in our cells like ‘sonic cuddles’ that ease our anxieties. They reset the natural rhythms and patterns of our physical body, as well as our state of mind and emotional well-being. At certain stages, these vibrations can help us to release buried feelings, countering resistance while allowing us to receive and experience life from a place of greater openness and love.
The movement of sound and the movement of our bodies go together like hand and glove. By weaving together sound and yoga, we can embark on a journey to places within ourselves; places often left untouched and lying dormant behind the noise of our thoughts. Sound and movement create space; they open us up and allow us to experience the freedom which is required to exist in our primal essence of life.
So, remember to listen and remember to move, because through these embodied processes we experience life.
