We are excited to announce that renowned YogaWorks certified teacher Mia Togo is joining the triyoga roster of teachers from this September. From California, Mia is settling into her new home in London and will be teaching Vinyasa Flow classes for beginners through to experienced students in our Camden, Chelsea and Shoreditch centres.

Mia brings with her an immense range of experience, having practised yoga for more than 20 years and taught since 2004. She is a YogaWorks certified teacher and teacher trainer, as well as mentor for the YogaWorks 300-hour programme.

On yoga, she says: “Yoga is union. It is so easy in a fast-paced city like London to become desensitised to the unique differences in others. Yoga reminds us that we are not meant to be the same, look alike, or follow a programme that has been laid down for us. It is easy to forget to celebrate our differences and try and fit in because it feels safe and familiar. The practice of yoga opens us up to the mindset and heart space that we are all the same and from the same source regardless of our external package.”

Growing up as an avid dancer and equestrian rider in California, she went on to dance professionally, working in film, TV, stage and music videos. Through the process of self-enquiry and self-acceptance, she began to feel her body as a temple for healing and started to practise yoga in 1996. Under the guidance of many teachers, she explored different styles and philosophies of yoga, but was especially drawn to Vinyasa Flow. She teaches with an emphasis on detailed alignment and intelligent, intentional sequencing.

Her classes at triyoga will include open level, level 1 and level 2-3, providing an opportunity for everyone to practise with her, from new to experienced students. She adds: “Everyone will benefit from my classes. For me, it’s not about fancy poses or tricks. It is ‘skill in action’. Learning to be skillful in a yoga class means you develop a deeper awareness of how to move your body as well as direct your energy, and mindfully open your heart to being present to what shows up on the mat that day.”

From 24 September, Mia will teach the following classes:

Mondays:

– Shoreditch 12:30 – 13:45

Wednesdays:

– Camden 12:15 – 13:45

– Camden 18:30 – 19:45 (from 3 October)

Thursdays:
