With our next teacher training diploma starting in November, we wanted to bring you a reflection and review from one of our current students.
I had 7 years practising yoga when I inquired about triyoga’s teacher training. Yoga was the only exercise that I never found myself bored of, and yoga also continually opened doors for me. Every class offered a chance to go deeper and to get more out of the practice. In and out of the birth of my two children, I learned the profound effect of yoga’s ability to cool and calm the nervous system. As my meditation and pranayama practices evolved, the physiological benefit of the practice led me yearning to know what was behind this wholesome state, filled with loving kindness. I knew I wanted to master my practice and help others experience the benefits and thankfully, I was accepted into the triyoga teacher training two years ago.
The training is extremely unique in the level of depth and sophistication of the practice, and it is rare in that it is over a two-year span. This commitment is essential to become a truly experienced and knowledgeable teacher. The course handouts, structure and reading list were carefully designed and selected by experts in the field. One might wonder what type of yoga they should train in, and this training is a solution for all as it covers the foundation for every yoga tradition. It gives you all of the ingredients necessary to allow you to make anything from a meditation instruction to vinyasa flow.
I was hired right out of my training at another local studio to teach three days a week in three different classes: yoga basics, restorative yoga and slow flow. The studios I work with are continually impressed by my knowledge of asana, anatomy and philosophy, my creative teaching ability and my attention to injury prevention.
Jeff and Susannah’s intake was a perfect fit for me. In Tantra, there is a concept about a guru planting a seed of enlightenment in the student, which then can sprout and ripen through the tender care of the students’ daily sÄdhanÄ. The guru transmits something of his or her own essential nature as Being-Consciousness-Bliss to the student. This is exactly what Jeff and Susannah did for me.
Susannah and Jeff made me feel so comfortable and welcome, and always had a laugh to lighten the mood. They get to know you in a personal way and really guide you along your journey. They have continually challenged me in my training and shown me my areas of improvement.
I also feel grateful for the philosophy teacher, Carlos Pomeda, who I found absolutely brilliant. I feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity of being his student.
triyoga’s teacher training helps you be the change you want to see in the world. It is a truly transformative process. You are called to be there, you experience yourself in a new way, and you go away loving yourself and others in thoughts and actions unconditionally. I have found, as a teacher, you are constantly rewarded for helping others.
I can’t recommend the training enough. Thank you to triyoga and my teachers, and for all of you for taking the time to read my review.
