Who do you picture when you think of a yoga teacher? We are willing to bet Chloë will upend your expectations.
Yes, she’s young and blonde, and enjoys a strong physical practice.
There’s also more to Chloë than meets the eye: she is an academic and scholar who reads philosophy for pleasure, liberally quoting Vedic texts in her classes and is as likely to engage in a serious discussion about the alienating effects of social media as she is to post images of handstands on the beach.
There’s more to Chloë than meets the eye.
Purists may question her freewheeling leaps from pop culture to Indian art via feminist theory, but Chloë, who began yoga as a baby strapped to her mum whilst she practised and who spent a significant proportion of childhood on the mat next to her, feels that despite her eclecticism, she has never really left the spot she landed in for her first Jivamukti class: right next to her teacher Emma Henry’s harmonium.
We are delighted that Chloë teaches Jivamukti with us at our Soho centre; a style of yoga that integrates the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of yoga through vinyasa-based asana practice, hands-on adjustments, breath awareness and meditation. See her full schedule at triyoga here.
