The summer might nearly be over but that doesn’t mean we have to give up that relaxed summer feeling, especially with treatments week just around the corner. Spending time on our well-being is important, whatever the season, and even more so during busy periods such as a new school term or the post-holiday work rush. So as we settle into our autumn routine, there are plenty of ways to keep that summer spring in our step.
During our treatments week, 23rd – 29th September 2019, you can book a 30 minute taster for £25, so it’s the ideal time to try something new. Here are some suggestions to start with:
Four-handed lomi lomi massage
If you want a sense of deep relaxation and wholeness, this massage is for you. Lomi lomi is the traditional style of massage from Hawaii and uses the whole forearm. Rolling and gliding actions with varied degrees of pressure ease out areas of tension. The four-handed version, performed by a man and a woman, also helps to balance the masculine and the feminine energies.
Craniosacral therapy
This is a gentle but profound and powerful hands-on therapy which identifies any pain and tensions we hold. Our body wants to be well and has a natural tendency to find health and optimum balance. This therapy helps it do just that by relieving its tensions and restrictions. It can help with a whole range of conditions, including stress and anxiety, back and neck pain, digestive disorders, headaches and insomnia.
Reflexology
To bring the body back to a state of equilibrium and promote its natural healing power, try reflexology. It is based on the idea that the body is mapped onto the feet, hands and ears. So by working on specific pressure points, we can improve circulation, stimulate our organs and encourage the free flow of energy around the body.
Facial reflexology
Encourage better skin and muscle tone, improve complexion and help to reduce wrinkles with facial reflexology. This treatment stimulates specific points and zones across the surface of the face and sends impulses through the body’s central nervous system and meridians (energy channels) to the major organs and physical body, encouraging good blood circulation, lymphatic drainage and hormonal balance.
