This fully accredited 300-hour advanced teacher training is designed for qualified yoga teachers and provides the support and tangible skills you need to become the teacher you aspire to be.

Bridget is one of London’s most senior and highly-experienced teachers. She is also one of triyoga’s original and most-loved teachers and continues to lead regular anusara® classes here, as well as offer workshops, teacher trainings, immersions and retreats all over the world.

Bridget offers this inspirational and educational programme, taking place over 16 months, that will support you as you dive deeper into your teaching journey. It will allow you the opportunity to connect to the practice that activates your heart so you can find your seva-ananda and offer your students the support they need.

You’ll be assigned a mentor for help and support you throughout the training.

Assessment will be on-going throughout the course and there will be home study and self-practice to complete between each of the modules. Throughout the training, you will have the time and space to hone your teaching skills and the opportunity to teach and share with the other students so you can each find your unique voice as a teacher.

In order to graduate, you must attend a minimum of 90% of the course. Should you miss more than this, you’ll need to take catch-up modules as agreed with the tutor.

Full day sessions will usually run 9.00am – 6.00pm. Friday evening sessions will run 7.30-9.30pm.

learning outcomes

On completion of the training, you will have had the time and additional knowledge and support to evolve and grow your teaching skills, find your own unique voice and feel confident to take your teaching out into the world. You will :

  • Know, and be able to teach, the anusara principles of alignment, understanding how these can support students in their practice
  • Have a compendium of great coherent methods to make class themes authentic and powerful for your students
  • Understand class sequencing principles and be able to sequence based on main classes of poses as well as class level
  • Have learnt to apply the art of observation and adjustment in asana
  • Be able to practise the skill of mentoring
  • Understand anusara methodology
  • Have a deeper understanding of the teachings and practices of non-dual Tantra philosophy
  • Be able to teach a safe class based on functional anatomy and have an in-depth understanding of common conditions and injuries and how yoga can help the healing process
  • Have a deeper understanding of the practices of meditation and be able to teach simple practices
  • Have a deeper understanding of prana, the subtle body and be able to teach different pranayama techniques
  • Know the physiological differences and changes that a woman experiences in her body through her life cycle and have ways to make intelligent and honouring class plans
  • Know how to adapt a class for seniors and understand anatomy and physiology considerations
  • Have learnt the skills needed to teach pre and post-natal yoga
  • Have a deeper understanding of restorative yoga and yoga nidra
  • Be inspired by and have learnt about seva from a range of teachers who have taken their teachings off the mat and out into the world

eligibility + pre-requisites

Students should have an existing 200-hour teacher training qualification.

Please be aware that, whilst you are eligible for the Bridget Woods Kramer course with an initial teacher training certificate from any school, qualification from this 300-hour course does not automatically qualify you to register with the Yoga Alliance, Yoga Alliance Professionals or ASHY if your initial teacher training is not accredited/registered by these bodies.

Students should recognise that the course will be demanding, both at and in between module weekends. Successful completion of the course will require significant effort, focus and dedication. In this respect, students should ensure that they have both the time and the personal support they need to commit to the course fully.

Anusara Elements and Inspired teachers will be able to apply for Anusara Certification on successful completion of this course.

About Bridget Woods Kramer:

Bridget Woods Kramer began her yoga practices in India in 1975 and embarked on an intense programme of study to become a senior teacher. Interweaving her visionary background within the fitness industry together with her love of meditation and yoga asana Bridget teaches with enthusiasm, sensitivity and insight, conveying yoga’s potential to support us in living and serving with love. You’ll enjoy an inspirational and dynamic, yet playful class with a mix of flow and strong alignment principles, entwined with yoga philosophy.

Bridget teaches regular Anusara® classes in Cornwall and at triyoga in London as well as offering workshops, teacher trainings, immersions and retreats all over the world; awakening and inspiring a most diverse and creative student body. Her steady enthusiasm, humour, depth of knowledge and humility sets a shining example and her many students are devoted to her tireless effort and rich understanding.

With great Love, Bridget acknowledges Gurumayi Chidvilasanda as her principal teacher and offers gratitude and love to John Friend. Ananda Leone
Ananda Leone, born is 1963 to Italian parents, grew up between Brazil, Argentina and Canada and now lives in Germany, where, in 1990, he established Berlin’s Academy for Yoga. A man of many disciplines, Ananda graduated in 1989 with a degree in Forest Engineering, danced Ballet with the Teatro Guaria Brazil, studied traditional Chinese medicine and trained as a naturopath before going to India to train with Swami Gitananda in Yoga and Yoga Terapy. The result of that trip was Ananda’s initiation into the Yogacharya lineage.

In 1995, Ananda graduated as a yoga teacher from BDY (the German professional association of Yoga teachers) in Dusseldorf. Ananda comes to Bali a few times a year where he holds retreats in English and German. Ananda teaches yoga, pranayama and meditation with a warm, hands on approach.

Ellen Saltonstall
Ellen Saltonstall (E-RYT 500 and C-IAYT) is an alignment-based certified yoga instructor and body therapist based in New York City with over 40 years of experience. In addition to yoga, she teaches Bodymind Ballwork, a method of bodywork using rubber balls to facilitate tension release. Her published books include Yoga for Arthritis (2008), and Yoga for Osteoporosis (2010), Anatomy and Yoga (2016), and The Bodymind Ballwork Method (2018), and she has published articles in Yoga Journal and Topics of Geriatric Rehabilitation. She offers yoga therapy webinars through YogaOnlineU.com, and she teaches nationally and internationally with a specialty in anatomy and therapeutics. Gilly Nevin
Gilly Nevin is a qualified birth teacher and birth doula. She trained as an active birth teacher with Janet Balaskas and as a Doula with Michel Odent and has a busy practice in Cornwall and London.

Janendra Hanley
Jayendra Hanley is a certified Anusara yoga teacher, an E-RYT 500 Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance and an authorised teacher of Neelakantha Meditation as taught in Blue Throat Yoga.

Jayendra has taught many Anusara teacher trainings around Europe, including in Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, the U.K., Germany, and the Netherlands. He is very active in supporting the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga as the co-coordinator of the Curriculum Committee and played a major role in creating the curriculum for their new 300-Hour advanced teacher training.

William K. Mahony
William K. Mahony, PhD, is known in yoga communities across the continents for his warm, lively and compassionate teaching that is accessible to contemporary yoga students at all levels as well as to those interested in deepening their spiritual lives in other ways.

Bill integrates his deep knowledge of yoga philosophy with insights refined over nearly five decades of his own yogic practice. He shares with participants the expansive and transforming wisdom he finds in the splendid texts he studies, and he guides participants in ways they can fruitfully apply these perspectives in their own lives.

Bill earned academic degrees from Williams College, Yale University and the University of Chicago and is a professor of Religious Studies at Davidson College, one of the premier institutions of higher learning in the United States. As a professor, he teaches courses on contemplative and devotional sensibilities of religions originating in India, with an emphasis on the philosophies of yoga.
